2026
Shaun won the Best Student Poster Award at the EIPBN Conference! Well done! The conference banquet was at the Rockies Stadium and the award was displayed on the Jumbotron.
Shaun and Carla attended the 69th International Conference on Electron, Ion, Photon, Beams and Nanofabrication in Denver, CO. Shaun presented a poster on “Ion Implantation into Semiconductors Using Ionic Liquid Ion Sources.” Carla is a member of the steering committee for the conference and she led the short courses, chaired technical sessions, and was the moderator for a panel discussion on “Maximising AI and human efforts towards precision nanomanufacturing and metrology.”
Carla gave an invited talk at the MRS Spring Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Carla participated in the Walden Panel on ionic liquids in Riga, Latvia, in April 2026. She gave a presentation on the Translation of ionic liquids into industrial applications.
2025
Congratulations to Alex Storey for passing his viva examination! Many thanks to Professor Robin Perrry and Dr. David Cox for acting as examiners.
Carla gave an invited talk at the 9th Spanish Nanolithography Meeting in Santa Pola, Spain, in October 2025.
Aydin gave a talk on “Optimisation of Charged Particle Optics with the Differential Algebra Method” and Shaun presented a poster on “Ion Implantation into Semiconductors using Ionic Liquid Ion Sources” at the meeting of the European FIB Network in Valencia, Spain, in September 2025. We had a great time and an epic paella.
Alex gave a talk on “Utilizing single species ionic liquid ion source beams for material irradiation,” and Carla gave an invited talk on “New approaches for charged particle optics for ionic liquid ion source” at the International Conference on Electron, Ion and Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication in Savannah, GA.
Carla was recognised with the 2025 Early Career Award of the International Conference on Electron, Ion, Photon Beam Technology and Nanofabrication in Savannah, GA.
